I created a series of three-letter, three-word statements inspired by Julia Chiang's work. She used a hand-drawn teardrop pattern in the background and a floral pattern within the text itself. I thought her work was intriguing because it seemed to break down an idea into the minimal amount of text necessary, like a text message.
I chose a metallic color palette along with playful statements to get across a bold and confident feeling. "Big and Bad" speaks for itself, while "Try and See" could either be interpreted as "Try to fight me and see what happens" or as encouragement. "Wow, Wow, Wow" was meant to be subtle and fit between the louder pieces.
