I worked with three other people to create an "Exquisite Corpse" for my experimental animation class. Basically, we had to make a set of rules, make a 30-second animation, exchange animations, and put together a 1-2 minute video that combines all of them.
My team agreed to follow an ocean theme and chose royal blue and aqua as the two main colors. I had tried to create an ocean for an animation project last spring and decided to try to follow a similar tutorial to create a more realistic ocean. I used the camera tool in After Effects to create a top and side view of an ocean and then modified the opacity of each layer to make it look like it was falling apart. After I got content from my team, I noticed that their work was 1080x1920 and mine was 4k. When I combined the work, I liked how my ocean created a living border around the sea creatures. I found rhythmic music and attempted to remix and collage the clips in a way that appealed to me.
