I went on a Euro trip to Rīga and Prague and decided to make something special out of those two cityscapes. Since I'm from the Portland area, I decided to make a third illustration of Downtown Portland.
I traced the buildings in Illustrator and recolored the outlines in Photoshop to turn them into intricate neon signs.
Each city has its own character and color scheme. Prague is known for its red rooftops and beautiful palaces. Rīga has its towers and churches. Portland has its newer, blocky buildings and a view of Mt. Hood.
My original photos of Prague and Rīga (taken with Canon 100D)
I was looking for a very specific angle for the Portland cityscape, so I sourced the image online.

** I did not take the PDX image **
